John T. DellaFerra, 57, of Wethersfield and a former Hartford
resident, husband of Trina (Scate) DellaFera, died at home last
Tuesday September 15, 1998, with his family at his bed side.
Born and raised in Hartford, DellaFerra is the son of Albert
DellaFerra and the late Evelyn (Drake) DellaFerra. He was employed
at Safe Home Security Inc. of Berlin, until incapacitated by
his last illness.
He was known by many through his years of dedication and participation
in local youth sports, including boys basketball, Catholic Youth
Organizations (CYO) sports and the Hartford Courant baseball
programs. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and
had published a football magazine and a "Basketball Price
Guide" magazine for card collectors.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves five sons, Joseph DellaFerra
and wife Linda of Marietta, Georgia, Daniel DellaFerra and wife
Lori of Wethersfield, John DellaFerra and special acquaintance
Marcie Campanello of Rocky Hill, Michael DellaFerra and special
acquaintance Michelle Urciuoli of Newington and Christopher DellaFera
and special acquaintance Shelley Armillei of Newington; a brother
Michael DellaFerra and wife Marion of Wethersfield, a sister,
Carol Bottaro and husband Jack of Trumbull.
Funeral arrangements were made by Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rocky
Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial was held September Friday, 18,
at St. Luke's Church on Bolton Street in Hartford's South End.
