Thomas F. Mooney, III, of Hartford died Saturday after a long
struggle with leukemia. His death was caused by complications
arising from a bone marrow transplant that was to help battle
the disease. He was 34.
A lifelong resident of Hartford, Mooney was employed by the City
as a zoning official. Mooney was also a certified Toastmaster,
Past President of the Voice of Hartford Toastmasters Club, a
member of Hartford Areas Rally Together (HART) and was active
in the McGinley-Crafa Little League.
He is survived by his mother and father, Thomas F. Mooney, Jr.,
and Bonnie (Moylan) Mooney of Hartford, his wife, Kathleen (McGlaughlin)
Mooney of Hartford, his children, Michael J. Mengel and Brooke
M. Mooney, his brothers and their wives, Kevin and Lisa Mooney
of Newington, Christopher and Trish Mooney of Hillsboro, MO,
and William and Lori Mooney of Hartford, and a niece and nephew,
Jillian and Matthew Mooney of Hillsboro, MO.
The funeral was held Monday, August 3, from the Rose Hill Funeral
Home in Rocky Hill followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
St. Augustine's Church in Hartford.
