Auxiliary thrift shop seeks donations of seasonal clothing, housewares,
linens, costumes jewelry, shoes, boots, lingerie and other useful

Vegetarian potluck dinners, social events, speakers on a wide
variety of health-related topics, and exchange of ideas. Meetings
take place on the first Friday of most months. Meeting the following
Friday, if the meeting falls on date of major holiday. Please
bring a dish that serves 6-8 people with no meat or fish products

Chinese Educational Commission exhibition at the Connecticut
Historical Society, One Elizabeth St., Hartford. In honor of
a visit from The Chinese Students Memorial Society, CHS will
display several objects from its collection that relate to the
Commission: letters, clothing, books and photographs donated
by relations of CEC students. $6 adults, $5 seniors, $3 students,

Are You Ready to Take the Challenge? The Fourth Annual Mountain
Laurel Challenge to benefit the Rehabilitation Hospital of CT.
5K event a competition for runners and wheelchair athletes of
all ages and abilities. Held on a TAC certified course on the
grounds of CIGNA in Bloomfield. Registration is 9:30am. Race
begins at 10:30am. Entry fee is $12 ($15 on day of race). T-shirts

Playground Construction to take place at 79 van Block Avenue
for the many children and families of the Sheldon Charter Oak
Neighborhood of Hartford. Volunteers from throughout the Hartford
community needed to serve food, donate construction materials,
and help assemble the actual playground. To volunteer or for

fun! Construction will take place all day, and there will be
a recognition celebration at noon.
