Last Thursday evening, October 15, the Louis W. Batchelder
Elementary School held a rededication ceremony to celebrate newly
completed renovations to the school.
"The construction is finally completed and we are celebrating
tonight.
The two year project has finally brought all our students into
a new learning environment of which we are very proud,"
said Batchelder Principal John Laverty.
Among the invited guests at the event were State Senator John
Fonfara (D-1st) and Matthew Borelli, Interim Superintendent of
Hartford Public Schools.
The festivities included performances by the Batchelder chorus,
and percussion clubs, directed by music teacher Al Rawlins, and
the Batchelder Band, directed by Philip Weber. The African American
Troupe of Batchelder students also performed at the event.
