Town InformationThe town of Windham in east central Connecticut, covers 28 square miles and is home to approximately 21,810 residents. The town was settled in 1689. The number of settlers increased rapidly, and in 1692 Windham was named and incorporated. The town is the home of Eastern Connecticut State College, which has more than two thousand full-time students and a variety of extension programs. There are several state-maintained recreational facilities in the Windham area for camping, boating and fishing.
