Town InformationThe Town of Hebron is located in east central Connecticut, founded on lands willed by descendants of the Mohegan sachem Uncas to settlers consequently called the Saybrook legatees. The area did not become settled until 1704 when William Shipman of Saybrook and Timothe Phelps of Windsor arrived. The town was incorporated and named in 1708, although boundary disputes continued until 1738. In 1786 the town was transferred from Hartford to Tolland County. Today, Hebron is a quiet agricultural town situated on hills that provided excellent views of the surrounding areas covering 37.5 sq. miles with a population of 7,160.
