Town InformationThe town of Preston in southeast Connecticut, covers 31.3 square miles and is home to approximately 5,100 residents. Preston was first settled in 1686, and was incorporated as a town in 1687, at which time its boundaries included the major portion of present-day Griswold. The principal industry today as it was in the past, remains farming although some related wool and cotton trade survives from earlier times. Many old homes lie scattered over the rolling hillsides and fertile pastures of this rural farm town.
