Town InformationThe Town of Warren, population 1,270 covering 28.0 sq. miles is located in Northwestern Connecticut and was originally part of the colonial Western Lands. It was incorporated from Kent in 1786. This rural town has always been primarily agricultural. The land is hilly and well watered by the Shepaug River. In the last century the town was especially noted for its production of cheese and butter. There are many ponds and inland waters in the town. The Wyantenock State Forest and Lake Waramaug attract seasonal visitors. The town is located one the route of the Appalachian trial.
