Town InformationThe town of Salisbury located in the extreme northwest corner of Connecticut, bordering both Massachusetts and New York, covers an area of 60.56 square miles and is home to approximately 4,200 residents. Salisbury was first settled in 1719 by three Dutch families and the town was incorporated in 1741. Although agriculture has been a consistent staple of the town since its earliest days, Salisbury is most famous for it historic local ore and forges. Today precision machinery parts have replaced the forges as the town's principal industry and agriculture is still carried on. |
