Town InformationThe Town of Morris, population 2,060 covering 18.8 sq. miles is in west central Connecticut originally settled as early as 1721 as an outlying area of Litchfield. A parish was formed here in 1767, at which time it was called South Farms. The town was not incorporated until 1859 once it divided from Litchfield. Agriculture has always predominated over industry here, although light manufacturing has always maintained a firm foothold in the town. Most of Bantam Lake, the largest natural lake in the state, lies within Morris's borders. |
