Town InformationThe town of Colebrook is located in northwest Connecticut on the Massachusetts border. Colebrook was the last town in northwest Connecticut to be settled, possibly because of its elevation. The first pioneer did not arrive until 1765. The small town was incorporated in 1779. While some light industry developed here around 1800, the town has since returned to its earlier agricultural character. The population in 1980 was nearly identical to that of 1820, and the center of the town has changed very little over the years.
