• Provides recreational opportunities for Avon residents and supervises the parks and open space areas in town. Administers three program sessions: Fall-Winter, Winter-Spring and Summer.
• Current activities: art programs, cooking classes and exercise programs; Joy of Fitness Mon., Wed., Fri., 9-10 a.m., St. Matthew's Church, $70 per session; men's basketball Mon., 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., Avon High School and Wed., 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., Avon Middle School, $2.00.

• Basketball League for Pee Wees Girls & Boys, Grades 2 & 3. Mon. & Wed./PGS & RBS/Dec. 9 - Feb. 28/Min. 24, Max. 40. Registration: Period has expired.
• After School Ski Program Avon Middle School and Avon High School. Tuesdays, Jan. 7, 14,21,18, Feb. 4; Wednesdays, Jan 8,15,22,29, Feb. 5. Registration: at Town Hall is past expiration date.
  
• Ski Sundown Vacation Program Grades 3-5, Feb. 14-21 (no ski Feb 17). Pick up at AMS at 12:30 p.m., return at 5:30 p.m. min. 32; max 46. Open to students in Grades 6-8 after January 2, 1996.
  
• Swim Team - Farmington Valley Ages 7-18
  
• Theater Program (Age 7 - 11) - Encore Entertainment Group. Saturdays, 9-11:30 a.m./AHS/8 classes/min. 10, max. 25. Nov. 2-Jan. 4 (no class Nov. 30, Dec. 28). $69.00
  
• Theater Program (Age 12 & Up) - Encore Entertainment Group. Saturdays, 12 noon-2:30 p.m./ AHS/8 classes/min. 10, max. 12. Nov. 2-Jan 4 (no class Nov. 30, Dec. 28). $69.00
• Special Saturdays for Special Kids Ages 7-12 meet the first Saturday of the month. Ages 13-17 meet the third Saturday of the month. $50.00
• Boys and Girls Play Softball - Boys and girls between ages of 12 and 15 can play softball this summer. Games will be played on weekend with pracitices during the week. Registration is on May 10, at Avon Town Hall, 60 Main street- 3:00 - 7:00 for more information call 860 677-3235.

• Basketball - Men's Open. Avon residents and full time employees of businesses located in Avon. Wednesdays/7:30-9:30 p.m./AMS. (*Some dates will be held at AHS). Oct. 30-Apr. 2 (no session Nov. 27, Dec. 25, Jan 1, Feb. 19). *Dec. 11,18 will be held at AHS.. $2.00 per person at the door
• Basketball - Men's Over 35. Mondays/7:30-9:30 p.m./AHS. Oct. 28-Mar. 24 (no session Nov. 11, Dec. 23, 30, Jan. 20, Feb. 17). $2.00 per person at the door. and up. Bowling, floor hockey and volleyball. Please call 409-4334 for future information.
• Unified Special Olympics Program Adults age 18 & up and students age 10

Activities held in Avon Public Schools are automatically canceled when schools are closed for any reason. Cancellation information is available by calling 409-4365 or by listening to WTIC radio station.
