Town InformationThe town of Trumbull, population 31,660 covering 23.5 sq. miles is located in southwestern Connecticut. It was first called Unity, a name which was changed to North Stratford in 1747. It's name changed again in 1797, when the town was incorporated on land from Stratford, to its present name. Today Trumbull is a stable suburban community in pleasantly hilly surroundings. The area contains 65 identifiable minerals, making it one of the richest in that respect in the state. Tashua Hill, which was one of the four geodetic stations in the nation used to determine the earth's shape, is the first land sighted from this part of Long Island Sound.
