Town InformationThe town of Darien in southwest Connecticut on the shore of the Long Island Sound and within the New York City metropolitan area, covers 14.9 square miles and is home to some 18,720 residents. Darien was first settled in 1641 and was incorporated from Stamford in 1820. Today Darien is mainly a residential community with no industry.
